Garden Journal: Making Progress

(The first in a many-part series of our garden progress)

We’re nearly there on the re-landscaping of the front yard and praying we’ll have a harvest that rewards our efforts. At the very least it will be a great learning experience.

Here are the details...

Friday:
We got the earth delivered around 4 p.m. 6 yards of it. I wish I had pictures but our camera had a glitch so we lost them. :(

Thankfully, it was dumped exactly where we needed it, though it still took just over an hour to move it around. Brie and her friend had a great time digging in it and climbing the hill. They also helped a little with the shoveling!

Two hours later, we got the second load of 6 yards. This one was trickier since it needed to be moved to several spots. Before we headed in for the night we were able to fill the beds on the side of the house and begin to shape the bed next to the house.

Weather: low 60's - perfect earth-moving weather!

$ invested so far: 430
time invested so far: 3 +
